Take a Moment for MJ

Honestly, I had sort of forgotten what an incredible performer Michael Jackson was since in the last ten years I've only associated him with small children and that one Law and Order SUV episode that was clearly inspired by his latest child molestation trial.

The guy was incredible!!! Check out this tease he puts on in Tokyo in 1987. I'm dabbing my brow by the time it hits 55 seconds.

  1. weirdness aside, he was quite a talented performer. although i wasn't much of a fan of his music (except for a couple of awesome songs), he was an integral part of my 80s experience.
his sudden death is so sad.

  2. i just played it, too, and you're right, 55 seconds in exactly.

my husband & i were kind of over-saturated with the media coverage here in london (this being england, the big focus is on that he died REHEARSING FOR A LONDON SHOW - but then again, they did report 9/11 from the point of 'xxx Brits die in World Trade Center..') but i'm finding that his huge talent is really getting under my skin. i can't stop humming his songs, for example. i've been really inspired by the video to black&white.

it really does feel that beings like that.. they've just got such extraordinary talent, it's just too much to sustain for too long. they just don't seem to need much time in this world - their star keeps burning after their gone, and that doesn't seem to end no matter how long they've left us.

jun, in hong kong, did a nice little style tribute to him on her blog:
